Bringing esports alive in Perth with the Supersonic Arena

Over the July school holidays, Ground Zero Gaming partnered with Lakeside Joondalup in Perth to present the Supersonic Arena, featuring Rocket League. The 14-day activation provided an opportunity for the local community to join in on the exhilarating esports action.

The activation included:

Freeplay Rocket League
Running from 3rd-16th July, visitors to the Supersonic Arena were able to jump onto a gaming station and play a game of Rocket League, testing their skills or versing their friends and family.
Meet the Pros
Rocket League fans were able to meet their idols, as the Ground Zero Gaming Rocket League team visited the Supersonic Arena on Saturday 15th July. Fresh from competing at the Rocket League Championship Series in Boston, the team came to the Supersonic Arena to meet and play with their fans - and we had to extend the signing session to 1.5 hours!
Supersonic Arena Slam tournament
We also hosted Perth's biggest Rocket League tournament, the Supersonic Arena Slam. With a whopping 32 teams registering, the tournament attracted a mix of grassroots and rising Rocket League talent across Perth to compete for a $5,000 prize pool.

And it was all free, thanks to Lakeside Joondalup.
